My digital art journey began in 2011 when I took a Photoshop course at Grande Prairie Regional College (now Northwestern Polytechnic). I wanted to learn how to use Photoshop so I could edit scans of my paintings and make prints and cards. The course included learning how to paint digitally, and I enjoyed that part very much.
In 2012 I was asked to do some illustrations and decided to try doing them digitally. The skills taught in the Photoshop course were basic, so doing these illustrations was a steep learning curve. It was a struggle and I was very discouraged at first. Once the job was complete I realized what a gift it was to have gained that experience.
I have kept at it off and on over the years since then, and have used Clip Studio Paint, Procreate, Krita and Affinity Photo. I especially enjoy creating cute animals and fantasy characters.
In 2024 I joined two other digital artists to put together an exhibit in our local gallery, beaverlodgegallery.com This was another great learning experience; I gained a lot of knowledge from these artists. And I sold most of the pieces I had in the exhibit!
Then I thought I might like to start an online store selling digital downloads of my work. After some months of researching and thinking about it, I finally did it using Sellfy online store builder. My digital art journey continues!
